Flintshire is an eclectic mixture of country villages, market towns, beaches, medieval castles and beautiful rolling countryside. It makes up a large part of the north Welsh border, with the Clwydian Range — comprised of many ancient forts — forming an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Challenge
Managing playground inspections and asset maintenance across 175+ sites required a system that could pinpoint areas most in need of works, support budget planning and maintain comprehensive long-term asset histories — all while keeping up with over 500 inspections per month.
Solution
Flintshire County Council has used PSSLive since 2010 to manage playground inspections across the County. Findings and Tasks are logged against specific sites, allowing the team to identify problem areas and plan budgets accordingly. Photographs can be added to sites, assets, findings and tasks at every stage — documenting the full journey from discovery through to resolution.
All asset information is stored long-term, enabling Flintshire to build comprehensive asset histories covering every inspection, finding and task ever recorded — exceeding the 21-year benchmark set by Lord Woolf's recommendations.
