TENS of thousands of pounds have been spent on installing new play equipment at parks in Rayleigh.
Rayleigh Town Council worked in partnership with Rochford District Council to source more than £20,000 of funding for improvements to Fairview Recreation Ground, Grove Woods and Playing Fields, and John Fisher Recreation Ground.
Dave Sperring, Rochford District Council’s councillor responsible for for environment, said:
“I’m sure parents will be pleased to see this new equipment installed.
“This is a great example of partnership working with Rayleigh Town Council for the benefit of local children and visitors.
“I hope we can now work in conjunction with other town and parish councils on similar projects in the future.”
The councils are now working together on providing replacement play equipment and safety surfaces at Sweyne Park Open Space.
