A new game is helping people to get moving see a park in a different light.
Aberford Park in Borehamwood has been kitted out with six metal baskets in a drive to get people playing disc golf.
The aim of disc golf is for competitors to hurl a Frisbee at the target and get the disc into the bucket using the fewest throws, rather than hitting a ball into a hole as in real golf.
Players can pick up mapped score cards and discs from Aberford Restaurant for a £5 deposit, or can play using their own Frisbees.
The game has been designed to be enjoyed by players of all ages and physical abilities.
Councillor Seamus Quilty, for environment, said:
“Disc Golf is fabulous new addition to Aberford Park! It’s a fun and simple game that anyone can play. You don’t need expensive equipment, just grab your Frisbee and head down to the park for a game.
“Not only will you be outside in natural surroundings, which we know helps to reduce stress and tension, but you’ll be exploring one of our Green Flag parks whilst getting fit.”
